Bio:

Who does he think he is to steal my destiny? He’ll soon learn the error of his ways – only it’ll be too late for him at that point. I can feel him. The bastard is close. Patience. Learn from your mistake…don’t rush. Breath in, breath out. Feel your surroundings, become your surroundings.

I take a deep breath. Damn this cold air. It sharpens the mind, keeps you alert, but it burns the lungs. Looking over I see Trevolonie, crouched there in the shadows. She’s comfortable. At home. Not me, I hate this place already. I hate hiding, waiting. Most of all, I hate being cold. This is it though, just a little longer, I can deal with it a little longer after all I’ve been through…

Growing up, I only knew one thing…I was the one. From the day I was born, my family knew it. Perhaps that’s why they coddled me, trained me, prepared me. They knew and I know what I am to become.

See, we grew up in a small village on a floating prison. Some call it an island, but we all knew what it really was; our dragon overlord made sure of that. Cruelty had a face, I’ve seen it thousands of times…I see even now, while I sleep; seared into the back of my eyelids. I truly think he enjoyed tormenting us, I bet he didn’t even care about his ‘precious gems’ that he’d force us to mine. But alas, the joke was soon to be on him. See, we had a plan…

Many years ago, my great grandfather, Soffrit, had the displeasure of making an acquaintance with a Kobold filth, I can’t remember his name, but I bet it suited his disgusting existence. This Kobold apparently shared with him a tale of a great sorcerer who, through the use of mysterious magic, turned himself into a dragon. It was with this power that he managed to rule Harphro, a large enclave in the northern hemisphere of Gazrin. Soffrit bought in, hook line and sinker. From that day on, he vowed to discover how that great feat was accomplished so he could escape this horrible existence. Alas, that day never came and he passed away before I was born. Every generation since has dedicated themselves to this cause. Recording everything in our sacred tome. Everything was ready, now the family just waited for the missing link. Then I was born. Plans were set in motion and my training began.

My parent entrusted my training to a close family friend, Ja’afar al-Saladin. He was my mentor, my protector, my second father. He ensured I got light duties in the mines so I’d have the energy to study after. He showed me everything. He would frequently take me on expeditions to the edge; showing me the terra below and explaining how the world worked. This went on for years. Little did I know, he secretly resented me every second of every day. At least, I keep telling myself that. Otherwise why else would he have taken advantage of the sundering and stolen our family tome?

Needless to say, our family was devastated. Our hopes and dreams shattered; much like our homeworld. If there was a silver lining, during the confusion of the sundering, my family and I managed to escape undetected. Unfortunately, my father suffered an injury we never saw. He got worse in the months that followed and succomed to his wounds. The whole time, he hid it well, we had no idea. Without his guidance, it was up to me to lead. I hated the mere thought of it, but I knew what had to be done if I had any chance of catching up with Ja’afar. I left my mother and siblings and took off on my own.

It wasn’t long after that I lost the trail completely. I was devastated. I could feel my destiny slipping away and it made me sick. I wandered for years, looking for any clue, any sign of Ja’afar. I began to think things were hopeless; then I met Typhon.

Wow, I thought I had it rough. If there ever was someone who fell off the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down…At least I had my looks. I quickly found what Typhon lacked in appearance (and smell), she made up for in her ability to track. We formed an arrangement and Typhon went to work. It didn’t take her long. Boy was she good. She sent word for me to meet her, and that I did.

It was a small cottage deep in the woods. Chimney smoking, the smell of stew cooking. We watched from the edge of the clearing. Typhon informed me that Ja’afar was there, in the cottage. She told me to wait, but I had waited long enough. I look back on it now, and I can easily see all the signs that I missed. It was too easy and I was too eager. If only I had patience. Needless to say, things didn’t go well. I tripped a trap and the next thing I remember was Typhon tending to my wounds…not in the woods but on a bed, in town. Ugh, talk about a new low point for my life. I cried for days when Typhon informed me that Ja’afar got away.

In the weeks it took me to heal, Typhon was unable to regain the scent of Ja’afar. She did, however, manage to hear a rumor about him being in a giant ice fortress. Unfortunately, my funds were low so our arrangement came to an end…She was able to at least point me in the right direction. That’s when I met up with Trevolonie…

We hit it off right away. She’s very personable. Well, compared to Typhon, anyone is very personable. Lucky for me, Trevolonie knew of the ice fortress and, better yet, has a unique skill set which allowed me to get onto the ice fortress undetected.

Which leads me to where I am today…ready to fulfill my destiny…
